Marty Cina was born and raised near the small town of Viola in the great state of Wisconsin. Shortly after high school, Marty served his country as a member of the United States Air Force where he served in Viet Nam. While Marty was in the military, he was inspired by a friend to learn to play the guitar. Marty tells of being asked to sing just a song or two for some special gatherings. When he was done, there was an overwhelming applause and there was no turning back then.
Marty made his living playing music and traveling to far away places like Hawaii, Alaska and even Australia. After returning home, Marty moved to Nashville to be closer to where the music industry might help his career grow. After a failed marriage and a couple of recording deals gone bad, Marty returned briefly to his home town and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Jena.
The couple returned to Nashville, where Marty began work on his current Americana CD "Goin' Home." It was not a quick task. Selecting the right songs, the right musicians, and the right arrangement was not quick but well worth the wait. Unfortunately, before the CD was finished, Jena passed away from an unexpected brain aneurism and the production came to a halt. It was Jena's wish that Marty finish the CD that the two of them worked so hard to create. With encouragement from friends and family, Marty finished the CD and dedicated the work to Jena's memory.
Marty resides now in the couple's Viola, Wisconsin, home and is busy raising their youngest daughter and focusing on his music. Music is as much a part of Marty's life as breathing is to others. His work is fresh and real. The genre "Americana" would not be whole without the works of Marty Cina.
